Could ‘Kanye West’ be President in 2024?

On the back of his blockbuster Jesus is King album debut, Kanye West announced he is going to run for president in 2024.

Actually, he said ‘I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk.”

Kanye West seemed to bend conservatively even before news of his radical salvation, wearing a MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat, visiting President Donald Trump—and taking violent heat for it among many African-Americans.

As I wrote recently, in 2018, Daz Dillinger put out a vulgar “Crip alert” calling for physical harm to Kanye because the rap star supported President Trump. Bodyguards flanked him in subsequent public appearances. (Read the entire article about the death threats I heard in the spirit about Kanye here.)

The 21-time Grammy-winning Kanye made his unofficial presidential announcement during an appearance at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York City last week.

“When I run for president in 2024, we’re going to definitely- yo whatchu all laughing at?” West said to a crowd who laughed. “When I run for president in 2024, we would’ve created so many jobs that, in fact, I’m going to walk.”

“What I’m saying is, when y’all read the headlines, ‘Kanye’s crazy,’ this and that, this and that, it’s like one in three African Americans are in jail and all of the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing! They’ve got no opinion! They’re so scared!”

The 42-year-old seems serious about his presidential aspirations. Would Christians rally around him like they did President Trump?

Fox & Friends host Ainsley Earhardt believes it’s within the realm of possibilities: “He’s a strong Christian. That’s definitely evident in each of the songs,” she said. “He would get the support of the black community. Look, when our current president announced he was running, a lot of people laughed too.”

Kanye West would be an unlikely president. Of course, so was Ronald Reagan at the time. He was better known as a Hollywood actor than a politician. No one thought Donald Trump would win the Oval. But Kanye West winning in Washington with no political experience possible? He might tell you, “With God, all things are possible.”

Meanwhile, Dan Bilzerian, best known as an Internet personality and gambler, jumped on the news, declaring he would run against Kanye West. While some believe the actor is joking, one thing is clear: the 2024 election is sure to bring out some unlikely candidates.

The question becomes: Are we looking at a new dawn in American politics where the government is truly for the people, by the people? Or are business moguls and entertainers in the Oval Office making a mockery out of the highest office in our land?
