In this world you will face much darkness, but Jesus overcame this world and so can you.

Listening to God is our success in Christ. We have to lay down our right to make our own decisions-not because we must be subservient for subservient sakes, but because our ways are not as good as God’s ways. Isaiah 55:9 says,
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
We have to accept this thought by faith. We have to recognize the limitations of our own thoughts. This isn’t hard for me. I lived my own ways long enough. The fruit of my own ways was destruction. When Christ found me I was at the end of a long rope, dangling and ready to drop into hellish eternity. My own ways led to depression, fear and anxiety.
To give my life to Christ wasn’t just giving it to a higher way. It was giving my life to the one who loves my soul and is the master of it. He is able to make Grace abound in your life. When he looks at you he sees the beauty that you will become.
When I worked in government I was really good with data. I could open up a database and see gold where other people would only see a mess of numbers, letters and gibberish. He was always exciting me starting a new data assignment. I knew that I was going to bring stuff to the service that nobody else had ever seen.
I am certain that it is the same with God when he looks at our lives. His thoughts are so much greater for you. Where you can’t see where the rubber meets the road, he created the road and he create the tires. He knows how to get your from where you are now to where you have to go. He is like a guy who has drive the same road a thousand times. You don’t have to even think about the road when you have driven it that many times. Each turn is marked in your mind. You can drive it fast or slow. You can almost do it with your eyes close. You even know where the bumps are located.
God’s ways are higher. He is drawing you to himself not to punish you or to curse you but to bless you. He has a thousand blessings along that road that he wants to give to you because he is a good good father. A good father wants to see his children happy, not sad. An earthly who is good tries to help his children succeed in all they do and only corrects because he has too. There is not perfect father except our father in heaven. Perhaps you like me see where you have fallen short as a parent. I always tell people if you can’t be perfect in love at least tell people you are sorry. I tell my kids when I have made mistakes. They are loving and forgive me for my shortcomings because we love each other.
God who created you didn’t create you for misery. He created you for a life of prosperity in every way. He wanted you to have good health, long life, a blessed family. He wanted you to belong in community, to have a fulfilling life blessing others. He gifted you in many ways and knows how to unblock your creativity to maximize your self fulfillment.
In this world you will face much darkness, but Jesus overcame this world and so can you. In order to do that you have to hear his voice, you have to respond to his voice, you have to know it like you know the voice of anyone you love. HIs sheep hear his voice and they don’t follow any other master. They don’t because he is the good shepherd who always takes care of his sheep.
I pray for you today and ask God to help you. I ask him to break every chain from your life that is entangling you to a life of unfulfillment. I declare that you shall be fulfilled in every way. You shall overcome just as he has overcome. You shall be the head and not the tail. You shall be blessed everywhere you go because you are learning to respond to his voice.
